Recap through EXILL

Cleansing the laptops overused file folders and came across some old stuff! I don't recall posting this before and it was one of the main submissions for the Cook Book assignment. Ta-Dah indeed.

The icon assignment-- choose one thing and draw it over and over until your brain starts seeping puss. I prefer this one to the colour one (previously posted). I want to fix the waves, for they agonize my corneas. Sigh.

And good old Alphabet Spreads. I LOVED this assignment. We were only assigned two letters to do a drawing for but I took on a third and this was the result! I literally just finished fixing this up on openCanvas-- the scan left it was a big gap between two halves of the drawing (this is A3, scanner is A4.. I'm poor) and I fixed the ellipse on the urchin :D

Alphabet Spreads

Facebook VS college work... the greatest battle ever fought?

Recap: Each person in our class was assigned two letters from the alphabet and it is our mission to draw a spread for each letter (mine being M and O). Our tutor has it in her mind that after all spreads are collected and grouped they will hopefully be turned into a book, but as there are only 11 people in our course we were a few letters short so I took on another (the letter U) to fill it up a bit (as did another coursemate and tutor dearest herself)

Above is one of the drawings for the letter O-- the letter needs to be visible on the page (the O being one of the tentacles to the left) and the grid underneath the blue paper shows where the letter goes (a choice of top left or bottom right) and the dimensions of the drawing.

The final piece needs to be collage, and an awesome coursemate helped me out by allowing me to use some of her ocean life and aquarium photos (:

Mail Me Art

Here's our first ever college assignment from back in September. Our tutor gave us the lowdown on how to create a piece for Mail Me Art, and here is my silly submission.

EXILL - Nov 10

EXILL assignment #2, design 4 final drawings based on an icon of your choice.

I thought it was a good idea to choose a hannya (as I tried hitting two birds with one stone because my next planned tattoo is a hannya and I've never actually grown the motivation to just draw the damn thing out) but 30 drawings later I regretted it and slowly started going insane. Ever say a word so much it loses meaning? Yes. Think of that.

Going through extensive mods as I'm not happy with it, but I'll stick it up here for the time being...

Drawn onto a lantern which ended up being a disaster so it went digital! Background will be created soon. Inspired by Dan Leo.

For some pieces we had to draw in the style of other artists, and for brownie points I tried copying tutor dearest's style. She's either slightly flattered or feels like murdering me for butchering her style. We'll see...
